Stranded Podcast - Episode 44



Intro: We hit 4000 subscribers this week! That's incredible - thankyou so much everyone. 

I have changed the date of my International Friendly Update.

This is because Stranded Dyeworks is having a trunk show at YAK in Brighton on Local Yarn Shop Day - Saturday May 6th.Stranded Dyeworks is having a trunk show at Alterknit Universe on April 29th-30th as part of North Somerset Arts Week from 11-5 BOTH days.

FOs: I have finished my Penguono by Stephen West! Knit out of all the yarn - you can find details on my project page.
WIPs: I've made progress on my vanilla sock out of Twisted Limone Art Yarn - OOAK.

I have also worked on my Stranded Dyeworks Koi socks. 

And I cast on the first of a pair of toe up socks out of a Gloria Sock Set from Hand Dyed By Kate.

Stranded Podcast - Episode 40 - Making Swoat happen

What am I wearing?: I'm wearing my finished and blocked Pavement Sweater by Veera Välimäki out of Malabrigo Sock in the 'Piedras' colourway. 

WIPs: I've worked on the first sleeve of the Second Grace sweater by Bristol Ivy out of Knit Picks Wool of the Andes

I've put a few inches on my cuff down vanilla socks out of Stranded Dyeworks Paradise MCN in the 'Koi' colourway.

Stranded Podcast - Episode 39


Intro: Some things I mention - Next week - March 31st I'm having an international friendly shop update at 7pm BST - British Summer Time. 

I've declared an amnesty on last week's shownotes. 

I am still NOT TAKING CUSTOM ORDERS. 

What am I wearing?: I am wearing my Pomme de Pin Cardigan by Amy Christoffers, knit out of Madeline Tosh Pashmina in a nice grey that I can't remember the name of! 

FO's: My Pavement Sweater by Veera Välimäki out of Malabrigo Sock in the 'Piedras' colourway is done! It needs blocking but the knitting is finished and the ends have been woven in.

WIPs: I've worked a little on my Norah George socks - these are Ann Budd's Go To Sock pattern and they're being knit out of the Time Turner colourway from Norah George. 

I cast on the Vertices Unite Shawl by Stephen West and I pulled it off my needles because it is HIDEOUS.

I have also swatched and started work on the Second Grace sweater by Bristol Ivy out of Knit Picks Wool of the Andes

Finally, I did a swap with Emma of Eldenwood Craft - and Emma sent me a beautiful bag and an identical bag for a KAL prize!

I also answer a question on my preferred bind off for toe up socks - Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off.

WIP's: My Pavement Sweater by Veera Välimäki out of Malabrigo Sock in the 'Piedras' colourway is well under way! I've finished the body and the first sleeve.

I've also put a couple of inches on my top down vanilla socks knit out of Stranded Dyeworks Paradise MCN in the 'Koi' colourway.

Questions: I talk about how I remove bobbles and pills from my knitwear without damaging it - with the Gleener. I purchased mine here

I'm also working on my Granny Stripe afghan - which has seen a fair amount of progress since the last time I shared it! 

Future Knitting: I have decided to cast on a Vertices Unite by Stephen West - as seen in West Knits Best Knits Vol. 1 - out of some Hedgehog Fibres Skinny Singles. The colourways I mention are... 'Fool's Gold', 'Fly', 'Boombox', 'Zephyr', 'Oracle' and 'Bounce'.
